The Conflicts Transformed Process

Welcome to the future of mediation.

We have developed a proprietary mediation process for families that is built upon years of experience in litigation, coaching, resolving family disputes.

1.

Introductions

After receiving your inquiry, we will send you a brief questionnaire that invites you to share some of your concerns and what you are looking to accomplish. From there, we will schedule an initial Zoom meeting that lasts approximately one hour. In that meeting, we will explore the issues you are facing and what outcomes we can help you achieve. The initial meeting is always complimentary.

2.

Agreement to Mediate and Questionnaire

The next steps are reviewing and signing our agreement. Each person who participates will be required to sign. From there, we will confirm dates and the participants.

We offer two programs. Most sessions are conducted over Zoom unless in-person arrangements are agreed to.

3.

One-Day Program

Our baseline One-Day program opens the door to frank conversations within the family about topics that have been difficult to discuss or were ignored entirely, creating a space for people to begin sharing thoughts, feelings and reactions that they previously kept to themselves.

Some families are more than satisfied with our One-Day Program. Some families need more time and space to discuss their issues. Those families may benefit by continuing on to the In-Depth Program.

In-Depth Program

Our In-Depth program is for families who understand the importance of spending the time and effort on developing trust and understanding within the family about different outcomes in the future and how each person would be affected. In the process, the families may need to deal with long-standing disagreements and develop boundaries to help people respect one another. Engaging in these difficult conversations pays huge dividends over the coming decades because the strengthened family bonds enable families to resolve disputes that may spiral into expensive lawsuits.

Our In-Depth program is custom designed for each family and involves at least twenty hours of one-on-one and group conversations with the mediator. We use Zoom and Google Meet for most meetings. If possible, we strongly urge the family to get together in person for the final discussion.

Guiding Principles

We never provide any advice or guidance to the family.

Our job is to ask insightful questions that make people think, share what we are observing, and to help people communicate and collaborate effectively. We are not experts in estate planning or probate litigation.

We do not seek any particular outcome. Each family is different and has different needs. Results often correspond to the amount of time and effort invested into the process.

We leave legal guidance and expert advice to your lawyers and other professionals.

The Result:

Your family that better understands itself and is more willing to compromise to find solutions that work for everyone. Our greatest reward for the work we do is watching families rebuild their internal bonds with one another and foster a new level of love and friendship.

Inevitably, while discussing incredibly personal issues, families will uncover emotional wounds that never healed. But instead of running away from them, we help the families share the difficult emotions and learn how to be there with each other, for each other. The impact of the process can be life altering as people feel seen and heard by their family for the first time in their lives. Tears and long tight hugs are the indelible signs that the family is headed in the right direction. While some may label this healing as therapy, it is not. That healing is the natural consequence of families learning to love and listen to each other in a whole new way.

Let us help your family discover the blessings awaiting each one of you.
